The Tiger Cage

We saw the tiger in the zoo today.
It was very big and very orange.
And it's teeth were very sharp.
But I was not afraid.
Because it had no life anymore,
and there were big steel bars
between me and it.
And I was all wrapped up in skin,
So nothing could hurt me.
And nothing could get in.

I also saw the giraffe today.
And it's fur was yellow and it's neck was very long.
And it was very tall.
But I was not afraid.
Because it had no life anymore,
and there were big steel bars
between me and it.
And I was all wrapped up in skin,
So nothing could hurt me.
And nothing could get in.

And then I wondered how many scary things we put in cages,
just so we can forget to fear them.

Because later that day, I saw God.
And he was very big and very very white.
He was glowing, and his hands were very old.
But I was not afraid.
Because he had no life anymore.
And there were these big steel bars
between me and him.
Besides, I was all wrapped up in skin,
So he can't hurt me.
And he can't get in.

I wonder how many scary things we put in cages,
just so we can forget to fear them.

And I wonder why we use our skin,
to keep things out, instead of letting them in.
